So last night was a wonderful summer evening at the Kenny Chesney concert.
Vicki came in so it was just a girls evening with me, Mom, Mam, Kendyl, and Vicki. The weather was perfect - Vicki and I caught some dinner at Chick Fil A and went to my parents to eat and my dad was nice enough to take us and drop us off. The first act was Taylor Swift, and she was good - she's only 17! We were shocked!
Next was Sugarland, and that was who Kendyl really came to see, she loves them! She has loved Sugarland since before they were big, so she was so excited! We got some good video, too... lol! They of course didn't know we were taping - whoops! I loved it when she sang Beyonce's song with the "To the Left, To the Left," and no one but me knew that song, and then I didn't really know any other songs except for the ones that had gotten major radio play! LOL!
What was even more entertaining was this group in front of us, and this girl was already a little tipsy at the beginning of the show, and they went to get some beverages, and came back and the girl had a different shirt on! My eyebrows were raised but she started to explain to her friends that someone down there had bought the shirt off her back for $20 bucks (it was the flip flop tour shirt) and her flip flop lighter for $5 - it was the most hilarious thing listening to her thinking what a great deal she got when she probably paid $35 for that shirt! LOL... anyway, not nice to make fun so I'll stop now...
So night fell and it was time for Kenny to come on - he had a whole Pirates of the Caribbean
theme as Cruzan Rum is a sponsor (shameless plugs everywhere) and he started with his newer stuff that I didn't really know, but then as he went on he got into his older stuff which is my favorite... it was the epitome of summer - perfect weather, good music, good friends and family, and just great. Vicki and I stated the 3 songs we were hoping to hear, and he played them all! My favorite was "Back where I come from" and it was just great. We left a little early at 10:45 p.m. or so to beat the crowds as Dad was coming back to get us, so we walked to Market Street and got some Jamba Juice, then Dad came and got us, and it was a great night.
Today is the Ballet, another girls event, so stay tuned....

Why didn't your dad want to go to the concert with a bunch of giggly girls looking at a guy in his tight jeans?? Sounds like the place he would want to be! :)
