So back to the daily grind... am writing this on my lunch break and I wish it were still the holiday weekend!
Yesterday was pretty relaxing - did some chores in the morning and went to the store, and then in the afternoon I went running (it was SO hot so I didn't get my full three miles in, was only able to do two, but I walked 2 to make up for it). Then we met up with Kim and Kevin and took the puppies to a dog park which was a TON of fun! There were probably about 10 dogs there, and they all loved it and had a blast playing with each other. They tired out quickly, but as adults sat chatting and since the shade was lovely and it was very scenic we were content to pass the time outside. After that we dropped the dogs off to get in the A/C and we went for some ice cream! Yum...
So now back to work and the life of being a grown-up... got lots going on and Curt and I are trying to get back on our diet/exercise regimen! I'm even waking up early in the morning to go run/walk with the bible study girls - it's our new running club to get these great legs that a magazine showed! So having someone meeting me at the track should be goal enough to wake up in the 5's... :-) Maybe if I can do that I can convince myself to do it every morning and save some time in the evenings!!
On the agenda for this week: finish DaVinci code so Curt and I can go see the movie with Kevin and Kim (I've read it more than twice, this is my third time, but Curt's first so we can't spoil it by going to see the movie!)
Other than that just waiting to hear on some of Curt's stuff and getting ready for Mid-Year Reviews with my company! Cross your fingers for us!

Fun in the Sun for the Holiday Weekend...
So Curt and I tried wakeskating yesterday - very fun and quite challenging! It's such a great workout and we had a ton of fun with Courtney and Ben on the boat.
But rewinding a bit, Friday night we got Kendyl on the road to Tyler, Mom, Dad and Mam on the road to Georgia, and Curt and I went to the house and took naps, I read some, and then we got up and going to have a fun night at Market Street! We got some yummy ice cream and did a few laps around the area, went into Borders and fed our brains with some good knowledge (I bought a GREAT book that's an illustrated encyclopedia of the kings and queens of Britain from beginning to present day!) and then went and saw X-Men! Was great... we enjoyed it! Saturday morning we slept in and got on the road to Curt's mom to go have some more fun! We met up with Courtney and Ben in the afternoon and went to Chocolate Bayou to join some of their friends on a boat. We had a great time watching all the "pros" go, and then took our turns at the end... I got up on my third try and then again on my sixth... was really a lot of fun so we'll have to try again! I had some great wipes though, but today am not feeling as sore as I imagined I would coming into it... Curt was *really* great! He took a little longer to get up, but once he got it he was good to go, and even went over the wake and did really well so we were all excited! After our fun wakeskating adventure we went back to Carrie's, showered up and grilled out - Courtney and Ben came back over with Roxy and Tyson, and we had a great time visiting. Slept *GREAT* and now we're back at my parents' packing up and getting ready to head home! The dogs probably miss us and we're excited to make it to our bible study's cookout tonight! Should be great... reading the Da Vinci Code to Curt on the way, so that should pass the time pretty well, and we can't go see the movie until he has read the book, or rather, had the book read to him - LOL! :-)
So that's all for now... maybe Curt's quest for a boat won't be so hopeless now...

Yea for the first post!
So here is my new blog... thanks to Vicki for getting me on this bandwagon - sigh... I don't really have a ton of time nor a ton to say at the moment... getting ready for Memorial Day weekend which WILL be a blast! Curt (my loving and new husband - yes, we are newlyweds - how long do you get to be a newlywed for?) and I are heading to Houston for some fun in the sun.... Have to work today but we will be joining the ranks of "those who have tried wakeskating" after tomorrow. Curt's sister, Courtney will be taking us out on Clear Creek and teaching us how to do this "wakeskating" business, which we are very excited about but have already warned our chiropractor that we will be in next week for some tune-ups! :-)
Unfortunately, Mom, Dad and Mam are leaving for Georgia tonight so we don't get to hang with them, and Kendyl is off galavanting on an oil rig somewhere near Tyler... so just Curt and I to our newlywed-selves so we'll see! Don't worry, the dogs have a pet sitter so they are accounted for and should be fine without us, though no doubt they will be excited to see us in a couple days...
Anyway, back to work and will speak soon!
